I bought this for bird watching and to take photos. I was very disappointed in the product. Even though it said that it would focus within 16 feet, it would not even focus within 30 or 40 feet and then very poorly. I tried to take a few pictures of a juvenile hawk in our backyard at 30 feet and it was so blurry it was not recognizable. I took it back. Thanks to Amazon's excellent return policy, I rolled that over to a Yukon 15 - 30 x 60 scope and am very pleased. Thank you Amazon!
