This item is worthless. I have learned to read product reviews before buying, but on this one, I must have had a relapse. I cannot

even use the product because the batteries are drained before I can even get around to trying it out. The batteries that came with the product were dead on arrival. I replaced with new ones, and turned on the camera. About a week later, with the camera off to save battery life, the batteries had been drained and were deat. So I have not even had a chance to try out the camera. But after reading all of these reveiews about it, there probably is no reason to.

This product was quite a bit smaller than I thought it would be. The particular used binoculars that I purchased was not sent with the cable for hooking it up to the computer to see the images, so I never actually got to use it (I returned it for a refund). But what was also disappointing to me was that fact that you can't review your pictures until you are hooked up to a computer, so I'm not sure about the quality of the pictures since I was never able to get that far. Hope this helps!

Very poor design on this unit, though the binoculars will do in a pinch if it's a heck of a pinch. Photos look like their coming from the Moon--or for all anyone knows, your photo may BE the Moon. This was me ordering first, checking reviews later. That smoke you smell is me having been burned. Shame on you, Vivitar--your better than this thing. Won't get fooled again!

Unreliable electronics that 'locks up' and requires removal of the batteries to free it up for use. The camera part takes a picture that is offset from what you are looking at through the binocular: i.e. look at a building through the binocular that fills the field of view and take a picture of it. You only get the top half of the building and half a frame of sky. I returned the first pair shipped due to this defect, and the second pair is just as bad. Will return for a full refund and find another brand.

I purchased these as a gift for my wife, though I enjoy using them also. They adjust for glasses wearers nicely and have excellent clarity. They are light weight and easy to use.



They come with good fitting individual covers for the large lenses. It came with a single cover for the two eyepieces end that covers if the binoculars are adjusted to the right setting, and/or if stuffed in the case covered. Otherwise this cover is not very handy.



Very nice binoculars.

I did a lot of research before choosing the Rangers. The choice was between these and the Nikon.

I've had mine about a month now and am very satisfied. One feature very important for me - since I

wear glasses - is the "eye relief" distance. The Rangers allow me to keep my glasses while viewing birds

or whatever. They are a nice size and weight with a sort of rubberized coating that aids holding. I chose

the 10x42's and happy that I did. I mostly use them for birding and hunting. ...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Great optics, light weight, reachs out to grab detail and de feathers. I use them for birdwatching and sports. Good value for money. Waterproof just in case. I used to hold a 10 pound rifle, (flint lock), so 10x is better for me than 8x. Friend with 8x often asks for a look. For long time views, a staff or walking pole can be used for a one leg "tripod".

I received these binoculars for my birthday. I wanted something more powerful than my 8x25's for bird watching. These optics are fantastic! They are so clear and powerful and the specs have them weighing less than their 8x42 counterparts. I wear glasses and they are comfortable to use with my glasses on. Without having to take my glasses on an off to use them, I can follow the birds and sight them much faster than with my old pair. Did I mention that the optics were fantastic? The crisp and clear image allows me to see the detail of each bird very clearly. I imagine they will be great for other hobbies as well. They come with a neck/shoulder strap and a case that can be used on one's belt.

I took the scope out of the box, took it outside to try it out and was shocked at how poorly it worked. On the lowest power it worked fine, but as you turned the magnification up the size of the field got smaller and smaller until, at maximun power it was like looking through a pinhole. Objects did not appear closer and closer. You just saw less and less as the sides just shrunk in. I immediately returned it. The service from Amazon.com was very good.
