I bought these on a lark, because of the price. For a lark, I guess they are worth the $27. But the "exit pupil" is too short so that they are useless with glasses and the field of view is small even without then. (I am near sighted, this might be different for people with normal or far-sighted vision.)But the focus travel is long enough that I can focus them without my glasses and the image is reasonable clear. Binoculars with this amount of magnification ought to have a place to attach to a tripod. The case and strap seem OK, but I haven't used them.



In short, these binoculars are minimally useful but only just so. They seemed to be designed for sale and not for real use. Celestron really shouldn't market items of this quality (nor should anybody else for that matter). All in all, it is better to either pay more for reasonable good quality or do without than to buy something of barely acceptable quality.

These work fine out to 50 yards but I can't see holes at 100 yards. Is there a nob to zoom in that I'm missing? I love the small size but I'll probably end up buying something stronger to see out to 100 yards.





Edit: I used this again at the range with new safety glasses and I could see the holes at 100 yards, my old safety glasses must have done something to make it harder to see the holes.

Delivery time was earlier than expected and packaging was excellant. I can clearly see target hits out to 100 yards using .22 and .17 cal ammo. Optics are great. It comes with a very nice carrying case and cleaning cloth. The only downside was the tripod, which seems a little flimsy. All in all, I am extermely pleased with this purchase. Alpen 20x50 Waterproof Mini-Spotting Scope is a very good compact and very affordable monocular. The objective lens is big enough so it still usable under a low light condition such as in a cloudy day. It has fully coated optics with porro prism which is a plus for me. The 20x magnification may be troublesome for someone who does not have a steady hand. But it has tripod mount connector, so you can simply attached it to the tripod that comes with it or other tripod/monopod. I use it sometimes to see the sky on a clear night mounted on my full size tripod. The free tripod that comes with it is very weak, so I mostly use it for my PNS digital camera.

Folks for the price and even with the strap the product it comes with it is a very good deal. I don't know about how water proof or resistant it is yet so keep that in mind. The product is fully rubber coated and have knurled areas where your hands will normally hold. The clarity and zoom are very good. You will easily focus your right eye to match your eye site with your left by adjusting your right eye by a ring focus such as like focusing a microscope. The product looks and feels durable. The fast focus works very well. The price is a good deal, as one person stated in his review "YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED"
