The Timberline PHG 4-16x40SF Varmint Scope, featuring 1-piece body construction, is lightweight and built to last. This side-focus scope contains a Vermint BDC reticle. A state-of-the-art optical design delivers a sharp, clear image. Utilizing an advanced 4x erector system, this scope is easy to use and boasts constant 3.75-inch eye relief over all magnifications. All optics are fully coated for excellent light transmission. Scopes are water tested and filled with dry nitrogen for reliable, fog-free performance in the most punishing conditions. Resettable, accurate 1/4-minute windage and elevation clicks allow for precise sighting. Power selector rings are rubber-coated for easy adjustments, even while wearing gloves. I've owned a number of good quality binoculars over the years, including the Columbia Back Country series, but I've never seen a pair of roof prism binoculars for under $200 that compares with the Columbia Timberline 8x42. They are bright and sharp across a high percentage of the field; the focusing is very fast and precise; the workmanship is excellent and promises to be quite durable; and the provided accessories (caps, strap and case) are first rate, especially the snap-in objective caps which should be supplied on all binoculars. The instrument attests to the quality optical manufacturing capabilities in China these days, and it deserves my highest recommendation.
