Have already reviewed this product on-line. Perhaps it was from the actual vendor - I couldn't tell. Upshot is that is seems to be relatively accurate, but limited. Ability to acquire the flag if hanging limp (from almost any distance) is is nil. Ability to acquire flag form beyond 135-140 yards is limited. Otherwise, quite useful from closer in. Workarounds are acquision of trees appearing visually to be +- 15 yards from flagstick location. Not a bad purchase for the price if you're willing to find a few workarounds. A reasonable complement to a GPS.

The Bushnell Yardage Pro Sport 450 seems to be well made and not too heavy, nor too light. For my own purposes, it will work just fine. I will be using it to measure straight line distances across a series of "sinkholes" in Citrus County, FL. For the purposes of the study, I need to known the widths of these geologic features. It is unreasonable to drag a long tape across one of these often deep depressions ... the tape "sag" would be too great ... and it would also require me to trample a lot of native vegetation, of which many plants are quite rare or endangered. What will be done is to sight from the edge of the sinkhole to a tree on the other side. Accuracy in not that important ... so, distance with an accuracy of 1-2 yards is just fine. I will do a calibration before going out: tamping off a number of posts, poles trees, etc. on my street where I have a clear view ... and noting how much the device gives a reading that varies from the true taped distance. This rangefinder is probably just fine for hunters ... however, golfers would probably do best to just play golf and learn how to estimate distances ... there is no way that most folks could hold any rangefinder steady enough on a flag/pin to get the acurracy they need. Besides, it is not sporting ... unless you just want to learn how to use your various clubs and assess the force of your swing that you might need. PS ... I paid $115 for mine, including shipping .. so, look around. it was sold by a vendor associated with Amazon ... I love Amazon!

I bought the rangefinder to measure out driving range's flag distances. Some of the distance are questionable because when I shoot a flag, it gives out 20 yards more then what it posted at the driving range. When shooting at a yardage sign (which is a bigger target) the yardage is similar to the posted yardage (maybe 1-3 yards difference). Also at night, it's very hard or impossible to get a reading unless the object you're shooting is white.



Con: Flimsy, almost toy type construction. Not so good in dim lighting. Need to have a big target and steady hands to operate it correctly. May need to measure different targets to ensure you're getting the correct distance.



Pro: Light weight if you're carrying it on your waist belt and walking 18 holes. No annual membership to pay for. Great value for the price. Good tool for a beginner golfer to practice his yardage.

I bought this item for use on the golf course. It seemed to work fine determining distance to large fixed objects, but it couldn't lock on the flag stick. I was willing to give it a shot for the low price, but I returned it after a single round. Have used Bushnell's other products with Pinseeker technology, and they work well. I'll buy one of those when I'm ready to suck up the bigger price.

This item was returned for credit. It simply does not work outside of about 100 yards. Beyond 100 yards or so, when the flag was in front of any other target (i.e. trees, etc.) it would only register the farther away target. When only the flag was visible, it would not register the distance at all.
