 "What a joke" 2009-09-30
By Thomas Smullen
This scope is a joke at best. It claims 20 to 60 zoom. It is 20 zoom at most. My 3x-9x rifle scope is more clear than this at 150 yards. You get what you pay for.

 "braska scope" 2009-06-06
By K. Soifer (Chicago, IL)
It is nice scope for $83 found it through[...] Rubber armor feels very comfortable and despite previous comment front lens cover does have tight fit. Optics not great but quite good. The only problem (1 star off) is the tripod. It's very small for such magnification. Case is nice but to fit in you need to disassemble eyepiece.

"Nice spotter for the $" 2008-10-28
By H. Fink
I bought this primarily for the target range and I am very satisfied! It's larger than most spotters, but it has very good eye relief and flexability (eye piece). The only problem that I see is that the front lens cover does not have as tight of fit as I would have expected. The carrying case is a nice addition.

 "broke" 2010-02-01
By Tom Lively (San Diego, USA)
The product was shipped in a timely manner. The price was as expected. The Binoculars were a gift for my brother. At a football game several weeks later I asked him why he wasn't using his new Binoculars? His response was that they were so far out of alignment that he couldn't look through both lenses at the same time. All the packing material had been long since thrown away so I just ate the purchase. Moral to the story - open and check the product at time of receipt. Buyer beware. Incidentally I own another pair of these and they are great. What they lack in magnification is more than made up for by the wide field of view. They have no adjustment however, so if your eyes are way out of the 20x20 range you might want to consider a pair you can focus. After laser surgery they work great for me.

 "remarkable binoculars" 2009-11-12
By J. R. Schafer (Sonoma, CA United States)
These binoculars are truly remarkable in their clear picture and wide range.

They do not need focusing for someone with normal vision, but I wish it were possible to focus so I could take my glasses off to enjoy the complete view.

They are a bit bulky in width, but their short length is nice.

"Perfect for the "Sport of Kings"" 2009-07-04
By Michael Peterson (Pleasnt Hill, CA)
Bought them for a much anticipated group outing at Golden Gate Fields-Club House. Didn't have much to spend. These compact, inobtrusive, bargain-priced Binoculars served me well on that occassion, and I'm sure will continue to do so, whether at the Races or all manner of other sporting events. (They do not have a feature to eliminate hand-tremor, a premium offered only in much more costly, high-end Binoculars, and which: 1) is Hardly realistic to expect in such a modestly priced model, & 2) Not even necessary in Binoculars w/as wide a field-of-view as these).

Bottom-line: I am Very pleased with this purchase.

 "Pleasantly surprised" 2009-04-20
By A. Kim
I bought this binocular based on recommendation of earlier reviews and I have to admit that they were right. 4x30 seem kind of weak in term of magnification but for what it was designed for this binocular is excellent. You get to see more in a given area than standard 8x20 binocular and you don't have to worry about focusing.

Initially I thought this binocular was very bulky but I was quickly won over on how comfortable it was holding it. This is the binocular to carry when you are going to air show, concert, and sports viewing.

 "Good LASER, decent flashlight." 2010-01-28
By MikeB (VA)
I bought this LASER-flashlight combo recently due to its pressure switch and the ability to have both a light and a LASER in one package. The mount is well made and sturdy. The laser is small but powerfull enough. The light is underpowered. You won't be blinding anyone with this light but it will allow you to navigate in the dark. The pressure switches can be a bit tempermental but they do work. Essentially, the pressure ribbon has many small buttons underneith it which will trigger the light or the LASER. There is self adhesive tape on the otherside of the rippon. The cords are long enough for most applications. In addition, the cables/pressure switches can be swaped out with the included on/off switches for always on light and/or LASER.

 "Great Rangefinder" 2009-11-10
By James Krebs (Gautier, MS)
I've bow hunted 5 times. In those times I've shot at two deer: The first was a miss...I shot under the deer b/c I grossly underestimated the yardage. The second opportunity came after I received the Nikon ProStaff 550 for a Christmas present from my girlfriend. It was a kill.

This is a very nice range finder. It's simple and compact enough to fit in your vest pocket. The Nikon Archer's Choice offers inclination compensation but with today's flat shooting bows (mine is set up to shoot around 275fps) and after having used the ProStaff 550, I can't imagine that it makes much of a difference. Twenty yards from a 15' treestand is going to shoot the same as twenty yards from the ground. Although physics dictates that the arrow trajectory will be affected as elevation changes, it's not going to be very much when you are only shooting twenty to forty yards. My kill came at twenty yards, the ProStaff 550 ranged it at twenty yards and my twenty yard pin put the arrow right where it was supposed to. What more can you ask for in a rangefinder? The bonus of this rangefinder over the Archer's Choice is the additional yardage/range capabilities (The Archer's Choice only ranges up to a 100 yards).

 "Excellent small range finder" 2009-10-01
By Belford C. Miller
I have a older range finder that is just to big to have at the ready. This range finder is 1/3 the size of my old one and measures closer and farther then the old one. This is a great range finder at an even better price!

 "Returned the item" 2009-08-18
By Robert W. Farkas (WI, USA)
When I shopped for this item the information regarding the item was incorrect. I bought the range finder believing the info that stated this range finder adjusted for elevation. It does not. I returned the item and informed the supplier and Amazon.com. It took a few e-mails but they corrected the Technicial Detail section and it took over two weeks but I did get my money back.

If you want a flat line range finder this is a great unit. Simple to operate and quick to give you feed back information. If you hunt from a tree stand or in the mountains it may not be what you are looking for in a range finder.

 "Better than description says!" 2008-11-18
By Kris J. Shaffer (Memphis, Missouri)
The son wanted one for his birthday and what the son wants the dad has to have. I surprised them both.

I read through product descriptions and reviews for 2 days on a multitude of web sites and settled on this one as the best one in my price range.

They both love it - the accuracy is within a very acceptable range.

Neither one can argue over distances any more.

It's proved to be accurate for both NE Missouri deer and turkey.

The terrain has not always been the best, but the Nikon 8370 550 Laser Rangefinder proved to be up to the task.

When the guys are happy and there is deer hanging - I'm happy.

"Low priced with good optics - great for hunting." 2007-12-27
By Kenny P (Pittsburgh, PA)
I believe these binoculars are a real bargain. For $30 you get a set of waterproof, rubberized, CLEAR, rough and tumble binoculars. These are great for hunting and the like. They fold and slip into a pocket. Perfect for the eastern outdoorsman that needs a sturdy set of binoculars for the woods. If you're in Montana, looking across a mountain peak 1000 yards away, these are not for you. But if you're in a tree stand looking at movement 60 yards away, buy them.

 "Barska Blackhawk 12 x 25 WP Binocular" 2007-01-09
By JOHN DUMONT (LOS GATOS, CA United States)
These are average binoculars with average optics suitable for occasional binocular users who don't have high expectations. Given that they are advertised as having fully multicoated optics and BAK4 prisms, I had hoped for better quality. But, heck, they're inexpensive and my grandkids have a ball with them. For far better optics I recommend the Nikon Travelite V binoculars for around $100. They're lighter and superior in every way.

Customer Buzz
 "Good for the money" 2006-11-09
By Robert Evans (Massachusetts)
I'm a serious birder and own some good optics. I wanted a pair of high-power glasses to use in sea kayaking, where things are usually pretty far away. They had to be waterproof and inexpensive, as there are many opportunities for mishaps, in addition to simple salt water spray.

It's hard to give something like this a high rating, as the optics are not good, but for what I needed they are perfect. I take the manufacturers word for it that they are nitrogen purged, etc. They are heavy, which is a positive as it implies that they will be stable and not go out of alignment.

The only surprise is the close focus, of perhaps 20m. I have not used 12x bins before, so this may be typical. However, for my purposes this is no problem.
