I mounted a set of these to the stock handgrips of my M4. The mounting holes and backing rings leave too much wiggle room to keep reliable alignment. Lining them up straight is at best an educated guess, and in order to keep them in place you have to torque the mounting screws so tight as to cause concern over breaking the plastic handgrips they're mounted to. If you want rails, recommend you buy the real deal. They are a well-machined product, it's just the concept that's off if you intend to use them in the real world.
