I purchased these binoculars last winter for stargazing because they seemed to be the best price for what you were getting. Indeed, these 7x50s have helped me see craters on the moon, open clusters, even Jupiter's moons in decent viewing conditions. Light but sturdy, too. I am an absolute beginning amateur, so I can at least recommend them to other beginners.

The price is great, and I initially bought two for my partner and myself.I love them so much I just bought Nikon's zoom binocs for real close up viewing. These are great all around binoculars, if you are following action, you will have no problem, and the optics are so great, you feel like you are flying with the birds, or right up next to what ever you are viewing. Great product.

before I purchased Nikon 7*50 binocular,I searched the internet for various brands and models, it seems this one is the best considering its
ratio of performance over price.I wear a eyeglass usually,and the eye cup of this model is foldable,because it has long eye relief(17mm? I can not remember exactly).the wide field of view and great focusing power makes it very suitable for watching the night sky. the images are sharp compared with dark background ,you can see much more stars than your naked eye!I highly recommend this model to those entry level Ameteur Astromomers!

Clear, bright image. Comfortable eye cups, which can be removed if you wear glasses. I do wear glasses, but my astigmatism is mild, and I am able to adjust the diopter on these binoculars to enable me to use them without my glasses. My only minor complaint is that the lens caps aren't permanently attached to the strap. Instead, they hook on to the strap after you remove them from the lenses. The hook holds them fine, but I plan to use these for sailing, and I suspect it won't be long until I drop one in rough seas while fumbling to hook it on the strap. The eyecup caps don't have this issue, since the strap goes through a loop, and they are attached permanently.

I've owned several binoculars prior to this type, this is my 2nd Nikon, the first one being the regular Action 7X35. As with any Nikon optical product, the optics of these binoculars are superb. The Bak-4 High Index Prism optics offer sharp,detailed images with little or no distortion. And the sharpness is amazing. The optics enhances the images and with the 7-15x magnification, there is very little you cannot magnify. As with all binoculars that doesn't have image stabilization, you will have shaking at the highest magnification. Smart thing to do is use this with a tripod of which, this binocular is equipped with a slot to screw-in your tripod. Very handy if you want to extend magnification without getting dizzy in the process. The rubber armoring of pretty much solid, offering protection from the usual bumps and drops. It also comes with rubber caps to protect both the eyepiece and objective lenses from dusts and smudges. Also comes with its own case to store it when not in use. Great binoculars so far. What you have is a brand name maker of optics at a great price. Highly recommended!

I purchased this item as "open box" and in fact the box was in very shabby condition. The binoculars seemed "like new" as promised, and I have found them to be essentially of good quality. The only issue I have with them is that there is no indication either on the binoculars, or on the packaging to suggest that they are made by Nikon. The pair I got was from a third party vendor and they were considerably less expensive than any of the others, but I assumed that to be a result of their open box status, not because they were a Chinese copy of the Nikon product. That said, I'm happy with them. They were a bargain at the price I paid, which was under $25.

This binocular is quite easy to use and has a nice clear field of view. I find it very useful for bird watching, for example. Two negatives: (1) it is bulkier than the small fixed power types (2) the range of focus goes well past infinity and the useful range of focus (close up to infinity) is all in about half the total focus control range. This takes a bit of getting used to.

Solidly built, compact size, a tad on the heavy side. Not fog nor water proof; the lens cover are not attached to the body, and may get lost once removed. Great image quality, smooth zoom operation. A great compact binocular.

This is a good entry level binocular for the price. I would recommend the fixed power Nikon above this however. The zoom feature requires additional adjustment to the diopter setting, and is not acceptable for extended glassing at higher powers. The 10x setting is very good. The diopter adjustment is too loose and can easily be moved out of focus unintentionally. I would not recomment the zoom feature on any binocular I have used in this price range. For a quick look at a higher power these are OK, but you are better off paying extra for better fixed power optics. If your use of binoculars require extended hiking or activity, I would recommend upgrading to the Nikon Monarch series which use the lighter and more sturdy roof prism design than the porro prims models and are significantly better quality optics.

These binoculars are really great, the way to adjust the magnification is very simple, just by turning the ring to the numbers of the magnification you wish to use. Anything you wish to look at with them is very sharp and clear, making it really neat to use them.

These binocs far exceeded my expectations, and my experience, with other zoom optical equipment. From spotting scopes to binoculars, a crisp image is usually always attainable at the lowest setting; however, as one zooms in, I usually found that the image became fuzzy or indistinct.
Having another pair of NIKON binoculars, I decided to just trust the name. I could always send them back if they were crappy. And so I ordered them.
When I first got them, I looked through the lenses and my heart sank. It appeared the two images did not line up, even out of focus as they were. But when I went outside and actually focused on the moon, I learned it was just the way things are.
At 10x, the moon is beautiful, but still awfully far away. By adding the included tripod mount, suddenly I was able to use it at full zoom. Details on the moon fairly popped out in crystal sharpness.
But zooms do exact a price, even with very nice optics. In this case, the field of view was not anything like you'd get from a Nikon 10x50, even though the objective opening is the same. But even with a more narrow view, like you'd get through a quality telescope, the Nikon came through with sharpness, which is my major concern.
At higher magnification, you're going to need a tripod. The attachment that comes with these binocs fits standard tripods, so accept that you need a good, tall, tripod. Second, the moon moves, so your tripod should be able to remain tight, even when the screws are loosened. If you have a cheap, crappy one that wobbles or won't lock, you'll have a more difficult time.
The moon is gorgeous through these lenses. So are terrestrial objects. The zoom is clean and smooth, and, again, the optics are much nicer than you'd have reason to expect.
TIP: When you install the binoculars tripod mount, a small decorative screw needs to be removed. This is often lost, leaving an unsightly hole in the front. Once you remove it, lift the bottom flap of the binocs case, put it there, and push down the flap. That way, you'll never lose it (unless, of course, you forget where you put it!). I leave my tripod adapter on all the time, but still, I'd hate to lose the original screw.

I was looking for a good pair to view object approx. .25 - .5 mile away. This Nikon did the trick. Very pleased even in very low lighting.
Would suggest using a tri-pod when using 10+ zoom. Images are good but not steady enough to comprend the details.

The brightest and clearest I have seen. I tried several before I purchased these and I believe that, for the price, these are the best. I definitely would purchase the same again.
The only drawback is the eyecup covers--not very handy and could be better.

I was excited to try these for bird watching, and got exemplary customer service and shipping from Amazon affiliated merchant.
Unfortunately neither my wife nor I (both normal-sized people) was unable to test them effectively because the eyepieces do not adjust close enough together to make a nice "circle"; instead we got double circles and double vision. The adjustment goes from 56-74mm which is apparently the range of average adult male faces. Well, if Nikon is listening, I checked all their models and none of them go below 56mm that I could find. That cuts out a big portion of the population
After this experience I realized that finding "interpupillary distance range" specifications is very difficult, even with all the optics websites out there. I ended up buying Leupold Yosemite 8x30's, which adjust from 50-70mm and are also a standard porro-prism design.
I understand that all binoc's involve compromises, and I'm no engineer, but it seems to me it would be a small design change to the hinge to make these fit many more people.

I've had my pair for about 3 years now and use them a lot for birding, the opera, and hiking. We keep them on the kitchen table to look at birds at our feeders, so they get almost daily use. The optics amaze me, and the binoculars have been perfectly dependable and easy to use. The very large eye relief makes them perfect for us, as we both wear glasses. I also like the adjustable eye cups. Rubber eye cups that curl back for use with glasses only last a year or two before cracking. These threaded eye cups should last indefinitely.
They're a bit heavy, so we bought a well padded camera strap to replace the thinner strap that came with the binocular. The case that comes with the binoculars works well, and has cutouts for straps.
We like this binocular so much that we are soon going to order another one so we both have one when hiking. I'm not tempted to get the 8x40 because the optics are so clear and bright that we can see birds much better with these than our previous, cheaper 8x binoculars. Also, a wide field of view is critical at the opera. The 8x40 is a little heavier, with a little narrower field of view than the 7x35.
Regarding the objective lens cover, I cut three slits into the sides of each cup so they slip on easily. Also, I've attached all the lens covers to the binocular with woven fishing line so they're never lost. They hang down about 8 inches when the binoculars are in use.

Bought this item because it was highly rated in Consumersearch. Used the binoculars less than 10 times and was removing the eyepiece cap and the right eyecup came off (this happened yesterday). Tried to reattach it but could not. These binoculars reportedly have a good warranty, so am hoping that when I contact Nikon I will be able upgrade this review. Prior to the eyecup problem, I was satisfied with the product.

I've had many pairs of binoculars over many years, some pretty good, some pretty bad, but these Nikons were a surprise the first time I put them up for a view. They are, I think, the best you are going to do in the price range, and maybe better than you will do in the next range up.

For the first time in my life I started hunting last year. Everyone around me does, so I decided to give it a try. I loved it. Last year I hunted white-tail deer and squirrel and had a great time. I decided to continue hunting, but that meant buying gear, and I mean all the gear, from clothing to the gun, to accessories, everything.
Last year I used binoculars and they worked really well for me, so I started looking around, I decided that if I'm going to do this I needed to buy some good quality equipment in my price range, and these binocs meet that specific perfectly.
They are small, present a great view, great quality that comes with the Nikon name. When I upgrade later I'll stay with Nikon.
